Hi friend,
Can I be honest with you for a second?
I have been talking to you for weeks now about saving. Trimming the budget, automating transfers, guarding your slice. And all of that matters, I promise it does.
But here is the thing I keep wanting to say out loud: you cannot save your way to the life you actually want.
Saving is defense. And defense keeps you in the game. But you do not win on defense alone. At some point, you have to play offense. You have to grow the pie, not just protect your piece of it.
So today, no talk about trimming. Today is about earning. Real, specific, doable ways to make more money, starting now, with what you have. Let's go.

The Elephant in the Room: AI Is Your Income Opportunity
Most people are scared of AI taking their income. I want you to flip that completely. AI is the single biggest income opportunity available to a regular person right now, because for the first time in history, you can offer high-value services without a team, a degree in that field, or years of experience. The tools do the heavy lifting. You provide the judgment, the taste, and the human relationship.
Here is what that looks like in plain terms.
You can offer writing and content services. Newsletters, blog posts, email sequences, social captions, product descriptions. Small businesses desperately need this and hate doing it. With AI as your drafting partner, you can produce in an hour what used to take a day, and charge accordingly.
You can build simple things for people. Resumes, cover letters, pitch decks, spreadsheets, basic websites, and customized planners. The skill you are selling is not "I can type." It is "I can take your messy situation and hand you a finished, polished thing." AI makes the production fast. You make it good.
You can become the AI person for small businesses in your world. Most local business owners know AI matters and have no idea where to start. If you get just slightly ahead of them, helping a salon set up automated appointment reminders, helping a contractor write professional quotes, helping a realtor draft listings, that is a paid service. You do not need to be an engineer. You need to be one step ahead and willing to help.
You can teach what you just learned. The fastest way to earn from a new skill is to teach it the moment you are one chapter ahead of someone else. Workshops, short courses, one-on-one sessions. People do not need a world expert. They need someone a little further down the road who can show them the path.
Your To-Do: Pick one skill you already have, and spend thirty minutes this week figuring out how AI makes you faster or better at it. That intersection, your skill plus AI's speed, is where your offer lives.

The Money Nobody Claims: Government Resources
There is real money sitting in programs your taxes already pay for, and most people leave it completely untouched because they assume it is not for them, is too complicated, or is only for the very poor or the very connected. Wrong on all counts. Let me point you at a few doors worth knocking on.
Small business grants and programs. The Small Business Administration exists to help people start and grow businesses, and it offers far more than loans. There are counseling programs, mentorship through SCORE, and Women's Business Centers in most areas that provide free guidance, training, and connections. If you have a business idea, or even half of one, this is free expert help paid for by the government.
Free training and certification. Many states offer workforce development programs that will pay for you to learn a new, in-demand skill, sometimes including tech certifications, bookkeeping, healthcare credentials, and more. These exist specifically to help people increase their earning power. Search your state's Department of Labor site for workforce or career training programs.
Grants for specific groups. Depending on your situation, there are programs targeted at women-owned businesses, veterans, rural entrepreneurs, and people re-entering the workforce. Grants.gov is the central hub for federal grants, and while much of it is geared toward organizations, it is worth understanding what is available so you know what to pursue.
Tax credits you may be leaving on the table. This is technically money you make by not overpaying. If you run any kind of side business, you may qualify for deductions and credits most people never claim. A good tax professional often pays for themselves several times over by finding these.
Your To-Do: This week, look up the Women's Business Center or SCORE chapter nearest you and bookmark it. Free mentorship from people who have done it is one of the most underused assets in the entire country.

The Mindset That Makes It All Work
The tactics only work if your head is in the right place.
Most people who want more income are waiting for permission. They are waiting to feel ready, qualified, and certain. I have coached enough women to tell you plainly: that feeling is not coming. Ready is something you become by starting, not before. The woman who charges $50 for her first project and learns from it will lap the woman who spends 2 years getting credentialed and never sends an invoice.
So start small and start ugly. Your first offer does not need to be perfect. It needs to exist. Your first client does not need to be impressive. They need to pay you so that you learn the most valuable lesson there is: that people will give you money for what you can do. Once you believe that in your body, not just your head, everything changes.
And let me connect this back to the whole point of this newsletter. We talk a lot about retiring rich. But a new income stream is not only a retirement tool. It is a living-rich-now tool. It is the difference between feeling trapped in one job and feeling free to choose. It is the trip you take, the debt you clear, the cushion that lets you sleep at night. Earning more is not greedy. It is oxygen.
The Simplest Possible Plan
Here is how to actually do something with all of this.
Pick one income idea from today that made something flicker in you. Just one. Define the smallest version of it you could offer to one person this month. Set a tiny, almost embarrassing first goal, like earning your first $100 from it. And tell one person what you are doing, out loud, so it becomes real.
That is it. That is the whole launch. Not a business plan. Not a logo. Not a perfect website. One offer, one person, one hundred dollars. The rest is just repetition and refinement.
The economy is shifting fast. AI is rewriting the rules. The people who thrive in the next ten years will not be the ones with the safest single job. They will be the ones who learned how to make money in more than one way, who treated their skills like assets, and who stopped waiting for permission to earn.
You already have something the market will pay for. I promise you do. Your job this week is simply to believe it enough to test it.
Go play offense. I am cheering for you.
